the coachella post

Photobucket
can't believe it's been almost a year since my first and unforgettable coachella experience.
while i was lucky enough to attend all 3 days at last years festival, i will be going friday/saturday only. after considering the artists on the lineup (and whether or not my bank account would allow the expense), i opted for friday/saturday. forgive me, robert smith.
with the festival a mere 25 days away, i'm already starting to imagine the schedules for each day (and all the running i'll be doing from stage to tent). with this year's line-up, i'm sure i'll be faced with some tough decisions, with my favorite artists most likely playing during the same time slot.

just for kicks, here are the artists who are going to make my weekend:

FRIDAY:
paul mccartney, morrissey, leonard cohen, beirut, crystal castles, n.a.s.a., m. ward, the presets, gui boratto, felix da housecat

SATURDAY:
m.i.a. (amy winehouse's exceedingly talented replacement), junior boys, thievery corporation, fleet foxes, mstrkrft, hercules and love affair, blitzen trapper, tv on the radio, band of horses

inara george

has the voice of an angel...

...an angel who sings lyrics like "would you be my fucking boyfriend?"

just saw the dreamy duo that is the bird and the bee at soho in sb.
girls in the audience were trying to sound half as good as inara during a "fucking boyfriend" sing-along
while the guys were wishing they could be her fucking boyfriend.

their set was a mix of old stuff, new stuff, and some reeeally good covers
(the bee gees- how deep is your love, hall & oates- i can't go for that)

this tune really got the crowd dancing.
"love letter from japan" from their new album ray guns are not just the future

so much talent in one post

while sitting in quiet reflection, it just occured to me...
it's incredible how much music i've been exposed to in my months in sb (so far).
seems like there's always a show to see/new band to hear about. i love it.

here are a few acts that i've recently seen and fallen in love with:
franklin for short

lake

the raggedy anns

local natives
